Swimming By To Say Hi

This lovely mermaid is this month beautiful image from Gerda Steiner designs for the monthly challenge. Gerda will send you the freebie every month if you join and buy the first one and make a card etc and link it to the challenge. A lovely way to add to your digi collection and her images are adorable. I enjoy making scenes and this one is maybe a little bit fussy but it was fun. The background is made by colouring water colour paper using distress inks then adding salt when it is still wet. The salt absorbs the moisture and you are left with this lovely mottled background. I used heavy cardstock on this card as I wanted a more spotty look. The mermaid and shells are coloured with copics and the seaweed and small fish are  from a stamp set by Kaiser called Mermaid tails. The shells are from two Darkroom Door sets called Seaside Vol 1 and Seaside Vol 2 and some extra seaweed from the Under the sea set. The sentiment was computer generated.

I added clear Wink of Stella to her tail and the star fish then a layer of glossy accents to give them extra shine. I also used the glossy accents to create some bubbles.

Birthday Hello Have not posted anything for months and saw the challenge on Beccy's Place blog and love the lilies so decided to have a go. Kept the card clean and simple and love how it turned out so maybe my mogo just needed a nudge.. The image is the freebie this month and the hello die is from my stash of die cut words. I can never just cut one and they mount up. I fussy cut two flowers, used dimentional tape to layer the larger one over the smaller flower on white cardstock. Stamped birthday girl under the hello die then added some glossy gems. To finish I adhered the panel to a matching grteen card base.

Happy Birthday

  Warm Hands Only Where does the time go. Our eldest daughter turns 50 tomorrow and this is the card I finally made. Not what I planned but love it and she has a great sense of humour. Hopefully this will get my mogo back as it has been on walk-a-bout lately. The digi is from Redonkadoodles  and was coloured with copics and I kept it simple so the image takes centre stage. Her favourite colour is green so mounted the panel onto a green square card base and added the sentiment. Copics used:  Skin: E00,31. Mouth: & Lips: E13,31. Hair: E23,25,27,29. Present: G12,14,16. Ribbon: C0,1,3,5. Shadow: G0000,000,00.

AAA Cards Cas Challenge

Have a Fabulous Birthday I have been messing around with watercolours so this challenge fits right in. The stamp is from Penny black  called Divine and was such fun to colour. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and then just played with different colours. Used a paint set I bought from my local Hot Dollar store ages ago and though they are not the greatest I had fun. Watercolouring is fun as you do not want it to be perfect and I love the patterns the paint creates. Different every time. The sentiment is from Stampin' ups Thoughtful Banners set. It is great for making up your own sayings as the words are all separate. I white embossed it on black card to give the card some contrast. I am entering the card into the Cas Game #84 Watercolour challenge. I am also adding it to Uniko Studio Happy 5th Birthday party Link.
